We are
the Native American Training Institute
This is where culture meets action. We provide training, advocacy, and culturally relevant programs. Our work supports the strengthening of Indigenous families, uplifting communities, and protecting the well-being of Native youth, especially those in foster care. From cultural mentorship to ICWA advocacy, we’re here to make sure every child grows up connected, supported, and proud of who they are.
At the Native American Training Institute, we are committed to strengthening Native families and communities by creating spaces where children are safe, connected, and proud of who they are. Our work is deeply rooted in the principles of the Indian Child Welfare Act, which guides us in protecting the rights of Native children to remain with their families, their tribes, and their cultures.
We provide culturally grounded training, support, and advocacy that empower caregivers, professionals, and tribal systems to serve Native youth with respect and understanding. Through education, collaboration, and a deep respect for Indigenous knowledge, we help build a future where every Native child can grow up surrounded by belonging, identity, and opportunity.

Support That Connects
The ICWA Family Preservation Program is a core initiative of our organization, dedicated to protecting the rights of Native children and families under the Indian Child Welfare Act. Working in partnership with Tribal nations and agencies, we ensure that children remain connected to their culture, community, and identity.
Our team monitors cases, provides ICWA training, and advocates for safe, lasting family reunification. We uphold not only the law—but the spirit of ICWA—by supporting families with the resources and respect they deserve.
Because every child deserves to grow up surrounded by their people, their traditions, and their story.

Keeping Culture Close
The Cultural Connections program links Native youth in foster care with mentors who can help them stay rooted in their identity. But it doesn’t stop there-we’re also building a network of foster parents and culture bearers. We are looking for caring people ready to step up to learn more or share their knowledge, while providing culturally grounded care. Whether you’re offering a home, a tradition or a hotdog your presence helps preserve identity, strengthen belonging, and keep culture alive for the next generation.
