NATI represents an alliance between the MHA Nation, the Spirit Lake Nation, the Turtle Mountain Band of Chippewa, and the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe, who collectively aim to make an impact in our communities. Learn more about the tribes that make up our network in the sections below.
The Mandan, Hidatsa and Arikara Nation, also known as the Three Affiliated Tribes, is located on the Fort Berthold Indian Reservation in central North Dakota, along the Missouri River, and includes over 16,000 members.
The Spirit Lake Nation, or “People of the Spirit Water,” reside on the Spirit Lake Reservation which is located in north central North Dakota near the present town of Devils Lake, and consists of over 7,000 members.
The Turtle Mountain Band of Chippewa Indian Reservation is located near the geographical center on North America in north central North Dakota, ten miles south of the Canadian Border, and includes over 32,000 members.
The Standing Rock Sioux Reservation is situated in North Dakota and South Dakota. The people of Standing Rock, often called Sioux, are members of the Dakota and Lakota nations, and membership in the tribe is over 8,500.
The NDIAC exists to create a better North Dakota through the improvement of tribal/state relations and better understanding between American Indian and non-Indian people.
North Dakota Department of Human Resources’ Children and Family Services Division is responsible for many programs and services and sets policies and procedures for child welfare services.
Casey Family Programs provides consulting services to child welfare systems, direct services to children and families, public policy resources, and research and analysis.
